Colleen's Banana Bread
3 bananas, preferably over-ripe
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening or soft margarine
2/3 c. sour milk (milk plus cap of
lemon juice or vinegar)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Mash the three bananas and add the rest of the wet ingredients. In separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients. Combine the wet and dry ingredients with the nuts. Pour into 2 loaf pans, well greased. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 2 small loaves.
