My Mother's Banana Bread


1 stick butter
2 c. sugar, scant
4 eggs


Cream until smooth. Sift together: 3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon


Mix together: 5-6 ripe bananas
1/2 c. oil


Add dry and wet alternately to creamed mixture. Pour into greased and floured pans. Makes 2 loaves. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/4 hours (may even need more if bananas were large). This is great toasted for breakfast, or our family favorite is warmed up with a scoop of vanilla on top and a little chocolate sauce over the whole thing. Delicious dessert!
