Old Fashioned Banana Bread


1/2 c. shortening, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 ripe bananas, sliced


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Put all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Mix on medium speed until thoroughly combined. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
